[:es]Los gadgets para las vacaciones de un nómada digital[:en]Gadgets for a digital nomad’s vacation[:]

Evidentemente no pondré mi portátil, la tableta o una memoria usb con pelis, esos ya son unos básicos que ni tan siquiera merecen mencionarlos jejeje… Te hago un pequeño resumen de algunos que han llamado mi atención y te animo a que viajes todo lo posible, porque lo importante es viajar el resto seguro que se puede solucionar:

• Audífono traductor. Aunque todavía no está en el mercado saldrá el próximo mes y seguro que ocupará un lugar de excepción en nuestra maleta, además ocupará poquísimo lugar. Hablé más de este gadget en un artículo de Hosteltur que te recomiendo que leas. La compañía Waverly Labs con su dispositivo llamado “Pilot” está dispuesta a hacer la vida más sencilla de esos turistas o viajeros de negocios que tienen miedo escénico a no entenderse con los lugareños del país al que viajan.
• Maleta inteligente. La maleta Bluesmart se conecta de forma inalámbrica a tu teléfono inteligente y, usando el móvil podemos abrirla o cerrarla, incorpora una pesa de equipaje, Bluesmart posee un GPS, que te permite averiguar dónde está tu maleta, también incluye un sensor de proximidad que te alerta de su cercanía y, además te avisa vía SMS.

• Purificador de agua. Si eres de los aventureros que te gusta perderte por los lugares a donde viajes y corres el riesgo de beber agua en mal estado, hay purificadores de agua con luz ultravioleta muy eficientes y a buenísimos precios. Un ejemplo es SteriPen funciona rápido tarda menos de un minuto en purificar el agua. Podrás purificar e agua si estás en la montaña o en cualquier otro lugar. La luz ultravioleta es capaz de destruir el 99% de las bacterias, protozoos y virus del agua.
• Adaptador de enchufes. Para los que viajamos con el portátil a cuestas sabemos lo importante que es llevar un adaptador de enchufes a cuestas, nunca sabes los enchufes que habrá libres y además puedes prepararte para tener el enchufe adecuado en el lugar adecuado. Para solucionar este problema te recomiendo poner un Power Cube en tu vida. Una forma sencilla de viajar con la ventaja de tener adaptadores de todo tipo y además es un cubo que pasará a ser uno de los gadgets de viajes favoritos.
• Batería externa. Para viajar una batería externa es uno de los imprescindibles en nuestra maleta, nunca sabes cuando puedes quedarte sin batería y quedarte «low battery» en un lugar desconocido puede ser cuanto menos que arriesgado (por lo menos para mi) me siento más seguro que mi batería en la mochila. Aquí no sabría cual recomendarte, en el mercado hay muchísimas. Te dejo un artículo comparativa de ViajeroCarpediem para que tomes tus própias conclusiones.

• Auriculares. Para momentos de evasión, desconexión o para hacer un Skype con la familia llevar unos auriculares decentes seguro que te vendrán bien. Realmente igual que el tema batería aquí hay un mundo de posibilidades, en Xakata hay una pregunta respondida con algunas opciones muy interesantes, pero lo mejor es que vayas a cualquier gran superficie y los pruebes, con los que te sientas más cómodo.

• Máscara Snorkel. Para los viajeros que les guste hacer snorkel se ha lanzado desde Decathlon la Máscara EasyBreath de la marca Tribord. Yo personalmente siempre he tenido problemas para este tipo de actividades y con esta máscara es muchísimo más sencillo. La panorámica 180º que te permite esta máscara y que además el cristal no se empaña, te permite disfrutar del mar durante tus vacaciones de una forma mucho más divertida. La máscara tiene un sistema que evita el paso de agua y además te permite respirar brevemente bajo el agua. Para mi particularmente toda una revolución, ya que soy un poco negado para el tema del Snorkel y este invento me ha venido de maravilla.

• Tumbona hinchable. Este no es muy tecnológico que digamos, pero práctico es un rato. Una forma fácil de encontrar tu sitio para la siesta. Es fácil de transportar y para los festivales… puede ser maravilloso. He visto que lo venden en diferentes sitios, os pongo el de Amazón para que tengamos una referencia neutra.

Tras este pequeño recorrido por gadgets para nómadas digitales o para cualquier que le apetezca darse un pequeño capricho, simplemente desearos que paséis unas magníficas vacaciones, ya que nos lo merecemos, hemos currado un largo año y también necesitamos desconectar (a mí me cuesta horrores, tengo que reconocerlo). A los que vuestra conciencia os permita dejaros los trastos tecnológicos en casa, mucho mejor, eso si la máscara para hacer Snorkel no la pierdas de vista, a los que nos gustan los chapuzones no nos puede faltar.

I am not putting obviously my laptop, tablet or memory stick full of movies, since these are considered basic stuff that not even deserve to be mentioned. I am summing up some treats that have caught my attention. I encourage you to travel as much as possible, since traveling is what matters the most, the rest can be fixed:

• Translator earpieces. Though not yet on the market, these will be out next month and for sure it will occupy an exceptional place in our bag, besides it will barely occupy space. I wrote more about this gadget in an Hosteltur’s article I encourage you to read. Waverly Labs with its device called Pilot is willing to ease the life of tourists and business travelers suffering of stage fright when they are not able to communicate with locals.

• Smart bag. The Bluesmart bag connects wirelessly to your smartphone and you can open or lock it using your mobile, it includes a weight, it has a GPS which allows you to find out where it is, it also includes a proximity sensor alerting of it closeness and, besides it warns you via SMS.

• Water purifier. If you are and adventurer who likes to run away wherever you go and have the risk of drinking non-drinkable water, there are very affordable, highly efficient UV water purifiers. For instance, SteriPen works fast, purifies water in less than a minute. With it you can purify water whether you are in the mountain or any other place. The UV rays are capable of destroy 99% of bacteria, protozoa and virus in the water.

• Plug adapter. When traveling and if we are carrying the laptop we acknowledge how important is to take a plug adapter with us, you never know how many plugs are available and you can also be ready to use the right plug in the right place. To solve this issue I advise you to put a Power Cube in your life. A simple way to travel with the advantage of having an all-type adapter, and it is also a cube that is going to be one of the favorite travel gadgets.

• External Battery. For travel, an external battery is a must in our bag, you never know when your battery can get drained and having “low battery” in an unknown place is risky in the best case scenario (at least for me) I feel safer with my battery in my backpack. In this case I would not know what to recommend you, but there are many in the market. There is this article from ViajeroCarpediem I drop here for you to get your own conclusions.

• Headphones. For moments of escape, disconnection or when making a Skype call to your family, your headphones will be of great help. So as with battery there is a whole world of possibilities in here, there is an entry in Xakata explaining some very interesting options regarding headphones. The best try is to go to a giant space and use the comfiest headphones for you.

• Snorkeling mask. For travelers who like snorkeling Decathlon has launched the Tribord’s EasyBreath mask. Personally, I have always had problems with this kind of activities and with this mask is much simpler. The 180° panoramic view this mask gives you and its anti-fog crystal allows you to enjoy more of the sea during your holidays. The mask has a system that avoids water from entering and besides allows you to breath shortly under water. In my case it is a whole game-changer, since I am a hopeless case for snorkeling and this invention fits me wonderfully.

• Inflatable deck chair. This is not as technological as we might think, but it is quite practical. It is an easy way to find your place for a nap. It is easy to transport and works fine at festivals… it can be wonderful. I have seen these are sold in several places, I put here one on Amazon for you to have a neutral reference.

After this small walk-through on gadgets for digital nomads or for any other who likes indulge him/herself, I have nothing more to do than wish you all to spend a marvelous holiday, since we deserve it, we have worked for a whole year and we also need to disconnect from everything (it is very hard for me, had to admit it). Those whose conscience let them leave their tech treats at home, much better, of course never missing of sight the snorkeling mask, those who love to dive in cannot miss it.
